Over 70 Years of Office Machine & Business Equipment Solutions

Hagan Business Machines was founded in 1950 with the vision to be the best in providing office equipment solutions while relentlessly pursuing the highest level of service for our customers, team, and community. In 70 years the industry has changed more than a few times, and Hagan Business Machines has been the cornerstone for Erie businesses to rely on to usher the city through those changes. Today is no exception; the year of 2020 presented digital challenges that shook the industry. Every customer interaction is critical, and our business is to keep you prepared for every customer interaction, print or digital.

Erie is more than our business community, however. It is our home. We have been proudly family owned and operated since 1977 when Frank Kneidinger purchased Hagan Business Machines from Paul Hagan. Since then, a pillar of our success has been reinvestment in the community through sponsorships in local functions. Today we continue these efforts alongside our adoption of other neighbor-friendly initiatives such as waste recycling programs. We believe we have a responsibility for Erie’s future and wish to lead the charge on bringing the digital home.
In 1960, Frank Kneidinger began his career with Hagan in the sales and service of Gestetner duplicators, where he learned from founder Paul Hagan the importance of providing the best service and support with honesty and integrity. Frank introduced copier sales and service following his purchase of the business, establishing a path forward. Because of Hagan’s mission to lead the way in providing our customers and community with office technology solutions, the company’s growth skyrocketed.

Frank retired in 2002 after 42 years of outstanding service, but he left the company in great hands, as five of his six children own and operate the business today.
“It’s not unusual for us to work with customers that our father worked with 30 or 40 years ago. It’s a great feeling knowing that our customers are happy and well taken care of,” says Kirk Kneidinger, Business Manager.

Nor is it unusual for a customer to deal directly with Hagan’s owners. In addition to Mike and Kirk, Frank III acts as service manager while Kara directs the office/billing and Julia manages postage equipment and shipping systems. The equipment and locations change, but one thing has remained the same; after all these years, Hagan Business Machines still provides the best service and support to meet and exceed our customers’ needs.
